Scott Schaller, a teacher at Cabrillo High School in Lompoc, is an annual visitor to the offices of Ph.D. Last week he brought a new group of students from the Cabrillo Design Program, a specialized program focused on teaching the fundamentals of design and design technology.

It’s brilliant with our afternoon tea, and brilliant with a glass of Prosecco after work, and if we’re busy well, we may even have some in lieu of a proper lunch. Panettone Milanese is its full and proper name, and it’s an Italian fruitcake that just melts in your mouth.

A Soap Opera Actor's Teeth Seen Up Close
Once again our work for Michael Maltzan’s wonderful Inner City Arts school gets due recognition. This time thanks to architecture critic Christopher Hawthorne in today’s Los Angeles Times, who is enamored with the bright white exterior, calling it akin to the “surprising brightness of a soap-opera actor’s teeth seen up close, or the pages deep inside a newspaper that has yellowed on top.”
