Randy Walker, Design Director and Project Manager

After graduating from California State University at Long Beach in industrial and graphic design, Randy did his graduate work at the Office of Charles and Ray Eames.
In the course of 12 years he worked in furniture, graphic design, and educational films and exhibitions.

In over 30 years in the profession he has been a principal, design director, and project manager the majority of the time. He spent 7 years as both an employee and consultant at Sussman/Prejza & Co executing over 50 projects around the world. Prior to working at Ph.D he was Director of Environmental Graphics at Rios Clementi Hale Studios, an architecture firm of 65 architects and designers. While at RCH Studios completed projects for AEG, Music Center-Performing Arts of Los Angeles County, Westfield, GSA, and Children’s Bureau of Southern California.

Randy has been at Ph.D since 2008. He has extensive experience in all areas of environmental graphic design process and especially the areas of code requirements, ADA compliance, construction methodology, and materials. Randy has completed projects for civic centers, universities, museums, libraries, retail centers, urban parks, sports venues, and corporate buildings.

Aside from his work in graphic design he has spent an extensive amount of time in fabrication of public art with Carlson Arts. He has managed the production of art pieces for Ellsworth Kelly, Claes Oldenburg, Jeff Koons, Christian Moeller and many other notable artists.
