Grand Central Air Terminal
Built in 1928 the Grand Central Air Terminal in Glendale played an important role in the history of American aviation: Amelia Earhart bought her first plane here and Howard Hughes built his first plane here. More recently the land was bought by the Walt Disney Company and the whole building was renovated. In keeping with its Zig-Zag Modernist architecture we chose a more ornate style of exterior signage than usual, and also designed some flight-inspired patterns for the glass interiors.
